QueueMetrics news / [OT] Asterisk security alert
« on: February 17, 2010, 10:18:47 »
Hello everyone,
this is not exactly related to QueueMetrics, but being an important Asterisk issue, we are posting it here.

Many VoIP protocols support a large character set, that may cause harm in your dialplan

You need to change entries that look like:

Code: [Select]
[incoming-from-voip]
exten => _X., 1, dial(SIP/${EXTEN})

See http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2010-February/244721.html

QueueMetrics news / New tutorial: QueueMetrics on Windows
« on: January 07, 2010, 11:56:17 »
As it is possible to run the QueueMetrics server on a Windows server, we prepared a tutorial just for that.

See http://queuemetrics.com/manuals/QM_Windows-chunked/ or download the PDF version from http://queuemetrics.com/manual_list.jsp by the bottom of the page.

Your comments are welcome!

Hello all,
we have been working on a simple dialplan replacement for AgentCallBackLogin. It is not nearly as polished as we hope for, but it should be a working start.

It offers the following features:
- Single log-on and log-off, managing queue/agent associations centrally
- Agent pause (with pause reason) and unpause
- Managed device state - the queue will not try calling members that are busy on other queues or because of other calls
- Tracking of the current hot-desk extension
- Fully compatible with QueueMetrics (and any other stats parser)
- Very compact and easy to expand

If you want to test it, you can download it from http://www.loway.ch/c/acbl16-v091216.zip and it should be trivial to install (look for the README file). We would love to hear how it goes.

There is a discussion group here: http://groups.google.com/group/agentcallbacklogin-replacement

Thanks!

QueueMetrics news / QueueMetrics 1.5.5 released
« on: November 09, 2009, 12:04:48 »
QueueMetrics version 1.5.5 has been released today.
This release includes a long-awaited AJAX real-time page and wallboard. We initially added it as an optional link from the front-page, so that you can choose whether to use the old or the new realtime pages. Comments are welcome - keep in mind this is experimental.

These are the major upgrades over the previous versions:
- #858 - New AJAX based realtime and wallboard pages!
- #876 / #917: Duplicate ABANDON records caused some calls to be counted twice.
- #688 - Filter out queues on the AddMember/RemoveMember agent buttons
- #711 - Oreka: New URL video format
- #730 - Inserted new fields in the answered call details. Added a new popup for unanswered call details.
- #734 - Authentication page: authentication with "return" key
- #769 - Master key visible on list of users
- #795 - SQL invalid syntax in call detail popup
- #845 - The realtime page doesn't show correctly agents associated to macro-queues
- #850 - Breakdown per Area Code
- #852 - Some TechException at startup
- #880 - Two calls shown for SIP extensions
- #881 - Encoding in XML-RPC
- #882 - Agent page: show logged queues when ACBL is used
- #886 - I can't modify some dropdown in the realtime
- #887 - The agent popup doesn't close anymore after 30 seconds
- #889 - Problems in the new Realtime Page

You can download the latest version immediately from the downloads page.
http://queuemetrics.com/download.jsp

As an alternative, if you run RHEL or CentOS (or any distribution derived from them, like e.g. TrixBox, Nerd Vittles and AsteriskNOW), you can install it automatically using yum - see the installation page.

If you would like to write a language pack for your native language, it's very easy and it only takes a couple of hours' work. See the Translating QueueMetrics document from the Manuals page.

As always, we value your feedback on how to improve QueueMetrics to make it a better fit to your needs.

QueueMetrics news / Want to test the new AJAX Real-time page?
« on: October 16, 2009, 12:07:58 »
It was the most requested new feature for QueueMetrics: having an AJAX real-time page, with a faster reload cycle, ability to turn on and off audio monitoring and the viewable panels.

We have implemented it. We know it's far from being perfect, but it is a start. In the 155b2 beta version, both the Realtime page and the Wallbord are AJAXy.

You can download it for manual installation at: http://yum.loway.ch/beta/QueueMetrics-1.5.5b2-trial.tar.gz

The RPM can be found at: http://yum.loway.ch/beta/queuemetrics-1.5.5b2-47.noarch.rpm - see here: http://astrecipes.net/index.php?n=279 for how to install a beta through RPM.

In any case, make a backup first. This is not an "official" release, so we do not suggest it for production usage. It is likely that it contains bugs.

Your comments are welcome. Also, if you experience any problems, please let us know the browser and OS you are on.

QueueMetrics news / Mendrisio 2009 & new FAQ entries
« on: September 21, 2009, 12:38:07 »
Hello all,
during the week, the UCI Road World Championship 2009 will be passing by our offices. This is a good chance for you - if you are curious - to see where we are and how Southern Switzerland looks like - you can find the program here: http://www.mendrisio09.ch/default.asp?nid=4&lid=1&cid=1

This will also mean that we will telecommute as much as possible to avoid being struck in traffic. Therefore, our telephone support may be less available than usual - if you need to contact us, it will be better if you will be using e-mail during the week. See http://queuemetrics.com/contact.jsp

We also added a new set of FAQs to the website:
* How to turn off audio on the RT page
* Help! my QM shows no data
* Help! my RT page in QM shows no data
* Handling encoding errors in QM
* Installing on Debian/Ubuntu
* Figures do not match when running daily versus hourly reports
* How to print all reports to PDF and mail them out automatically
* Using AMI under Asterisk 1.6

You'll find them all on our FAQ page: http://queuemetrics.com/faq.jsp

QueueMetrics news / AGAW released
« on: August 20, 2009, 11:54:16 »
The Agent Awareness module of QueueMetrics is finally out of beta and available as a separate purchase - and you get a 50% discount if you purcahse it within December 2009!

The AGAW module lets your agent see the queue statistics, be informed in real-time to what is going on and start chat sessions with their supervisors. It is meant for large-scale distribuited call-centers where a high, real-time awareness of goals and targets is needed. It embeds into the Firefox browser and does not disrupt web-based CRM / form filling by the agent.

For further information on the AGAW module, see the QueueMetrics User Manual.
http://queuemetrics.com/manuals/QM_UserManual-chunked/ar01s08.html

The price list is available here on the Licence page: http://queuemetrics.com/licence.jsp#AGAW

If you would like to run an AGAW demo on your own QueueMetrics system, please apply for a three-month free AGAW demo key.

Supportcan be found in the AGAW board in this forum: http://forum.queuemetrics.com/index.php?board=15.0
