xmpp communications
« on: April 16, 2009, 12:12:19 »
Hi

Could you point me at getting xmpp communications working in conjunction with AGAW?

I have a local jabber server, and each agent has a jabber client on their workstation. I have configured the nickname in the agent page, but when testing, firefox says
Quote
xmpp is not a registered protocol

Do I need some other software?

Thanks

Tony

You should have a client that supports xmpp and that will register with your browser.

We used Spark - http://www.igniterealtime.org/projects/spark/index.jsp - and it's pretty good, but there is a long list of other clients that will likely work just as well.

See e.g. http://xmpp.org/software/clients.shtml

Had tried Jabberd, Gajim and Psi; no luck.

Spark works great!

Thanks
