General Asterisk configuration / Problems logging agents in

I am a part of a telecom consultation group for a company that is using QM and is having problems with logging their agents in.  Some agents will login and be told that they are logged in but will not receive any calls.  Sometimes it takes the agent four attempts to finally get logged into.  If the server is reset it will work good for a couple of days but then it will start happening again.  It is not a specific agent nor does it happen to every agent.  Any suggestions that I can use to approach this issue.  Thank you.
