Title: AsteriskNow
Post by: BuffPuff on May 15, 2008, 10:06:37
Hello all,

I have a request to build an ACD for a 24 station call-center, and QueueMetrics seems an interesting option.
Our plan is to use AsteriskNow as the PBX and a server next to it running debian for the ACD and other assisting applications.

Is there a way to install your software on a separate server and have it poll the AsteriskNow server over the LAN?

Yes sure - with the qloaderd (a small perl script) running on the Asterisk server and sending queue_log data to the main reporting server. You can even use that to build a clustered ACD system.

I wonder why Digium did not choose one of the "big", proven distros as a basis for AsteriskNow - using a Debian or RedHat derived system like everybody else seems to be doing.
